A connected car is a vehicle which has internet access connected to a local area network. This lets the car connect to different devices inside the vehicle. Even a small failure on vehicles equipped with autonomous drive can cause fatal consequences. 

In the past, connected cars were produced by just a small number of car makers. Which turned away some potential customers who were loyal to a certain car make.
