indu University of America's Holistic Yoga Certification Yoga Teacher Training Certificate Program It is taught in partnership in conjunction with Yoga Bharati (Vyasa NorCal). This certificate program is a true holistic, comprehensive, and research-based course taught by highly experienced professionals in the discipline of yoga. Participants in this program are able to obtain an Yoga Alliance Certification (RYT-200) and can progress towards becoming registered yoga teachers.
Yoga Certification
This program is an holistic approach to traditional yoga, which combines traditional eastern practices and philosophies along with western-based evidence-based research and bringing out the best of both the East and West. Through this course students will learn the philosophical foundations behind yoga as it is taught from an Eastern viewpoint using texts from the classical period like Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika and many more. Additionally, they will incorporate their knowledge of philosophy about yoga with practical application.
This program focuses on teaching the principles and techniques that are part of Ashtanga Yoga, or the eight-limbed path to achieving the optimal state of well-being and happiness. Through the course of the course, students will be involved in classes that teach them the fundamentals of yoga in order to establish an understanding. Then, they will dive into the practice of yoga and yoga philosophy in the form of a group-based study. As they advance through the course they will develop an understanding of not just how to do yoga efficiently and develop their minds, but they will also acquire teaching techniques. The program will equip students with the skills to lead yoga classes in confidence to groups of people or in communities.
